Art Director
Job Description
Stream Companies is seeking a senior-level Art Director to help elevate integrated campaign design across digital, email, direct mail, and print. This remote role is centered on strong creative leadership, smooth team workflow, and maintaining brand integrity while partnering with client and internal stakeholders to keep projects moving efficiently.
What you’ll do
- Support the Creative Director with artwork for client strategy planning and presentations
- Develop and oversee execution of high-quality graphics and creative across a broad range of mediums, including digital, email, direct mail, and print
- Ensure deliverables are completed on time and aligned with client brand standards and expectations
- Directly lead the creative team, including mentorship, training, and performance coaching
- Run 1-on-1s and provide constructive feedback on both projects and team performance
- Assign work to team members and collaborate cross-functionally with roles such as AMs, ACD, and CD to clarify requests, troubleshoot blockers, and route work through the appropriate channels
- Facilitate daily standups, set priority expectations, and ensure follow-through
- Serve as a design resource by staying current on design and manufacturer campaign goals and coordinating graphics across multiple pieces
- Troubleshoot and work cross-departmentally to generate new ideas and approaches for Stream products and client marketing strategies
- Maintain a strong understanding of Stream Companies product offerings that require design deliverables and contribute to development of new technologies or offerings
- Take direction and incorporate feedback from the CD, VP of Creative, and Chief Creative Officer
- Ensure all design processes are followed, including WF, AEM, and file naming standards
- Participate in departmental planning (structure and processes), identify opportunities for team efficiencies, and support new hire onboarding
- Help cover CD/ACD responsibilities during their absence, including clarifying requests, troubleshooting, and delegation
- Strive for operational excellence and adhere to Stream’s policies and procedures, including a 1-hour response time and 24-hour resolution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Advertising, Design, Interactive, or a related creative discipline
- 5-8+ years of related work experience
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Automotive experience preferred
- Highly proficient in integrated branding and marketing, brand development, and creative campaigns
- Strong understanding of how design affects audience engagement and campaign efficacy using layout, hierarchy, and attention-grabbing creative
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
- Proficiency in optimal file setup for all mediums and prepress standards for print
- Mastery of design automation, including the ability to troubleshoot, audit, and maintain templates
- Highly proficient conceptual design capability
- Strong time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills under deadlines
- Strong communication skills with clients, vendors, and internal teams
- Strong presentation skills and conceptual work
- Understanding of the automotive industry and automotive marketing, including terminology, trends, and trackers
- Strong understanding of FTC, manufacturer co-op/compliance, and state advertising laws
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills, able to manage multiple tasks concurrently for the team and independently
- Ability to stay creative and innovative within a regulated automotive advertising environment, including producing atypical automotive advertising concepts
