Art Director
Job Description
Stream Companies is seeking a senior-level Art Director to lead and oversee creative design across integrated campaign deliverables in an onsite role in West Chester, PA. This position supports client strategy planning through artwork, protects brand integrity across multiple mediums, and manages day-to-day creative workflow, deadlines, and team performance.
You will partner closely with the Creative Director and other leadership to ensure deliverables move through the right channels, design processes are followed, and the creative team has clear direction. The role also includes mentoring and training graphic designers, coordinating cross-department efforts, and staying current on client and manufacturer campaigns to help drive effective content across programs.
What you’ll do
- Support the Creative Director with artwork for client strategy planning and presentations
- Develop and oversee appealing graphics and effective creative across digital, email, direct mail, print, and other mediums
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with client brands and expectations
- Directly oversee creative team members, including mentoring, training, and performance feedback
- Run 1-on-1s and provide constructive feedback for projects and performance
- Assign projects to team members and coordinate with AMs, ACD, CD, and other stakeholders to clarify requests and troubleshoot issues
- Lead daily team standups, set priority expectations, and ensure follow-through
- Serve as a resource to the team by staying informed about current design and manufacturer campaigns and goals, and coordinating graphics across multiple pieces
- Troubleshoot and collaborate cross-departmentally to generate new ideas or approaches for Stream products and client marketing strategies
- Maintain a strong understanding of Stream product offerings that require accompanying design deliverables, including participation in development of new technologies or offerings
- Stay informed on current client and manufacturer campaigns and help coordinate necessary content across multiple pieces
- Take direction and feedback from the CD, VP of Creative, and Chief Creative Officer
- Ensure design processes are adhered to, including WF, AEM, and file naming
- Support departmental planning around structure and processes, identifying opportunities to improve team efficiencies
- Participate in new hire onboarding
- Help perform the CD/ACD role in their absence by clarifying requests, troubleshooting, and delegating work as needed
- Strive for operational excellence and follow Stream’s policies and procedures, including a 1-hour response time and 24-hour resolution
- Take disciplinary action when needed
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Advertising, Design, Interactive, or a related creative discipline
- 5-8+ years of related work experience
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Automotive experience preferred
- Highly proficient in integrated branding and marketing, brand development, and creative campaigns
- Strong understanding of how design affects audience engagement and campaign efficacy through layout, hierarchy, and visually compelling creative
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
- Proficiency in optimal file setup for all mediums and prepress standards for print
- Mastery of design automation, including ability to troubleshoot, audit, and maintain templates
- Highly proficient conceptual design skills
- Strong time management, organization, and multi-tasking abilities
- Strong communication skills for clients, vendors, and internal staff
- Highly proficient presentation skills and conceptual work
- Understanding of the automotive industry and automotive marketing, including terminology, trends, trackers, etc.
- Strong understanding of FTC, manufacturer co-op/compliance, and state advertising laws
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills, able to work well under deadlines while handling multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to create innovative concepts within a regulated industry, including atypical automotive advertising approaches
