Job Description

Based in Reston, Virginia, CEDENT is seeking a senior UI/UX designer to lead the user experience strategy across its product portfolio. This onsite role lives within an agile product environment where research, workflows, and visual design converge to transform user insights into clear, scalable interfaces. You will collaborate with product management, end users, business stakeholders, and engineering to define experiences that meet real needs and advance the product roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the UX strategy in close collaboration with Product Management, end users, business stakeholders, and Engineering to establish a clear vision for the user experience and design scalable solutions across the product.
  • Apply rigorous user-centered design processes to craft optimal experiences across products and platforms.
  • Conceptualize innovative directions, develop user experience specifications, workflows, and mockups that address the needs of end users and stakeholders.
  • Deliver strong experiences across products and platforms as part of a collaborative, agile UX team.
  • Utilize expertise in research, interaction design, and visual design to inform design decisions.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of user-centered design processes and methodologies.
  • Experience in interaction design, interaction modeling, mental modeling, identifying user scenarios, and creating user flows, with both low- and high-fidelity designs.
  • Advanced wireframing, prototyping, and visual design skills, plus knowledge of tools and methodologies.
  • Experience designing web applications and mobile solutions for enterprise platforms.
  • Ability to think strategically about product vision and roadmap.
  • Experience in UX strategy, user research, interviews, surveys and usability studies; including creation of user personas, journey maps, and empathy maps.
  • Experience in UX analysis, including competitive analyses, market assessments, and heuristic evaluations.
  • Experience in information architecture and taxonomies; ability to conceptualize navigation schemas, search schemas, and application maps.
  • Experience with web analytics and user feedback data (Google Analytics) to inform design changes.
  • Experience in usability testing, including writing test scripts, applying research methods, collecting feedback, and proposing design improvements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in a fast-paced software development environment with the ability to meet aggressive timelines.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to achieving success.
  • Highly creative and inquisitive, with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Stays current with user experience trends and best practices across web and mobile interfaces.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; able to discuss front-end considerations with developers.
  • Experience working within Agile methodologies.
  • A portfolio accessible online is required.
  • Agency experience is preferred.
