Job Description

AWS Customer Experience (CX) Design is hiring a Senior Product Designer to shape connected experiences across foundational AWS customer journeys.

Responsibilities

Own design for complex customer problems spanning multiple products, workflows, or technical systems.
Frame both the problem and the solution; identify risks and dependencies; help teams converge on clear direction.
Map end-to-end customer journeys across discovery, configuration, integration, operations, governance, troubleshooting, and recovery.
Spot where experiences fragment across products and define opportunities to improve continuity.
Turn customer needs, business goals, technical constraints, and competitive signals into an actionable experience strategy.
Drive the work through interaction design, information architecture, prototyping, launch, and post-launch iteration.
Partner with Product and Engineering to understand architecture, dependencies, scaling factors, and edge cases.
Influence terminology, workflows, defaults, APIs, and abstractions that impact the customer experience.
Use research, usability findings, behavioral data, support signals, and product metrics to clarify priorities and evaluate tradeoffs.
Validate concepts and improve shipped experiences with evidence-based decision-making.
Apply AI proficiency across the design practice to accelerate synthesis, exploration, prototyping, documentation, and analysis.
Evaluate and refine AI-generated outputs while maintaining accountability for customer relevance, accessibility, and quality.
Present clear recommendations to senior leaders and cross-functional partners; explain tradeoffs and build alignment.
Create reusable interaction models, frameworks, and standards to increase coherence across AWS experiences.
Mentor designers, lead design workstreams, and develop approaches that help other teams move faster without lowering the quality bar.

Requirements

6+ years of design experience.
Available online portfolio.
Experience with UX design of complex workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience acquiring user data (usability studies and user research), plus creating personas and journey maps.
Experience partnering with stakeholders to plan and execute strategic programs.
Experience working with cloud-related technology, including designing or optimizing cloud-related technology for enterprise customers.

Team overview

AWS Customer Experience Design works across products and organizations to make complex cloud experiences more coherent, intuitive, and trustworthy.
Approach customer experience as connected journeys, not isolated services.
Start from customer outcomes across the cloud lifecycle.
Look across consoles, APIs, SDKs, CLIs, documentation, support interactions, and operational workflows to find systemic friction.
Emphasis on strong craft with systems thinking, customer evidence, technical curiosity, clear recommendations, and hands-on delivery.
Designers share methods, mentor colleagues, and create reusable approaches to strengthen the CX Design organization.
