Job Description

The Associate Art Director supports the Art Direction team in producing and executing photography, concepting, design, and visual deliverables for Grandin Road marketing materials across multiple channels. This onsite role in Grandin, MO includes hands-on leadership of layout design, support for creative updates and production, and assistance in planning studio and on-location photoshoots.

Key Responsibilities

Art direct the photography team for studio and on-location shoots, ensuring imagery aligns with brand standards, campaign objectives, and product priorities.
Develop hands-on layouts for creative assets and marketing materials from concept through production.
Align layouts, product features, and merchandising priorities with campaign goals and business objectives.
Resize, edit, prepare, and present photography, design concepts, and creative materials for review and approval.
Monitor cross-functional partner deliverables for assigned marketing materials throughout creative development and production to support timely, accurate completion.
Maintain design and layout consistency while upholding brand standards and participating in scheduled design and layout reviews.
Prepare and deliver creative presentations to team members and senior creative leadership.
Research competitors, identify visual trends, and recommend updated approaches to evolve layouts, templates, and campaign concepts.
Perform other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.

Requirements

Passion for creative work, demonstrated through a strong portfolio.
Basic understanding of print production, photography, illustration, and typography.
Proficiency with Adobe InDesign.
Photography experience is preferred.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to travel for in-town and out-of-town photoshoots.
Availability to flex work hours as needed, including for night shoots.
Ability to work onsite in the studio to lead and direct teams in person and attend meetings as needed.
Comfort working outdoors in varied weather conditions.
Minimum education: BFA or BA.
Preferred education: BFA or BA in Art, Design, or a related field.
Minimum experience: 3-5 years of related work experience.
Preferred experience: catalog or retail experience with a lifestyle brand.
