Job Description

Georgia Southern University is building a pool of part-time, temporary faculty to support undergraduate programs in Graphic Design and Digital Foundations for the 2026-2027 academic year. These positions are filled on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis, providing flexibility while you contribute directly to student success. The role is onsite in Statesboro, GA.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses.
  • Applicants may be asked to teach in multiple modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.

Requirements

  • Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Art or a related subject, including at least 18 graduate semester hours in graphic design or digital arts.
  • Classroom instruction experience in higher education.
  • Ability to teach these tools: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, and Premier Pro.

Tools & Technologies

You should be comfortable working with Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro, and common productivity platforms such as Microsoft Office and Google applications.

Compensation

  • Commensurate with experience.
  • This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.

  • Consistently demonstrate engaging customer service.
  • Ability to support various constituencies served by the University.
  • Proven computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google, and/or required applications for the assigned position.
  • Adherence to University policies and procedures to support institutional goals and student success.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, along with organizational and human relations skills.

Conditions of Employment

  • Work must be completed while physically present in the state of Georgia, with limited exceptions such as research and approved activities (for example, grading and email correspondence), unless specifically authorized by the University for a specific purpose and limited period consistent with current policy.
  • Faculty are expected to contribute to the campus community through student engagement, participation in events, and other on-campus responsibilities.
  • Teaching, research, or service duties may be required across any of the three campuses. Accessible transportation options are provided between campuses.
  • Employment is contingent upon a background investigation (including a criminal background check), credential and employment history verification, and, if applicable, a satisfactory credit check.
  • Applicants may be subject to a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without assistance from the University.
