Sr. Digital Designer

J. Crew Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Digital Designer to strengthen design across J.Crew digital touchpoints. This hybrid role in New York focuses on delivering polished, on-brand experiences across the website, email, social, and off-site marketing.

Role Purpose

As a Senior Digital Designer, you will enhance design for J.Crew’s digital channels, moving projects from creative concept through final delivery. You will translate strong ideas into wireframes and visual assets that support a clear, customer-focused brand and experience. The role includes working closely with Art Directors, web developers, designers, content strategists, and writers within the Brand Creative team.

Responsibilities

• Create innovative, user-focused design solutions that incorporate all elements of a great experience while conforming to style guidelines.
• Generate engaging, shop-able content for the J.Crew website and omni-channel touchpoints.
• Take ownership of projects including editorial features, responsive style arrays, emails, affiliates, and site enhancements.
• Communicate necessary production information clearly to relevant team members throughout the process.
• Apply sophisticated, charming typography with an understanding of its role in the overall experience.
• Stay aware of fashion and business trends and social ideas, interpreting them into strong creative work.
• Manage stringent deadlines while quickly adjusting to changing priorities.
• Enhance user interfaces in collaboration with Art Directors and front-end developers.
• Bring content to life through unique, user-friendly approaches.
• Ensure high-quality output with consistent, clear design that aligns with the J.Crew brand aesthetic.
• Maintain and elevate brand positioning through quality design standards.
• Develop technical skills and stay up to date on software changes and developments in web technology.
• Support the Senior Digital Art Director, design colleagues, and the wider brand creative team.
• Influence and guide Designers and Juniors.
• Execute and or guide still life photoshoots.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment, with fashion and technology industry experience.
• Proven depth of design and digital experience demonstrated through a portfolio of work.
• Strong command of typography, layout, form, and color.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Indesign, Adobe CC, and responsive web design.
• Working understanding of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and image optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of web technology restrictions and opportunities.
• Proactive, ideas-driven approach with initiative and follow-through.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills in support of deadline-driven work.

Compensation & Location

• Location: New York, NY (hybrid)
• Salary: USD 72,500 - 89,750 per year
• Minimum experience: 7 years
