Senior Motion Designer
Job Description
Bumble Inc.’s Creative Studio is looking for a Senior Motion Designer to create motion work that is effective, exciting, and culturally relevant across Bumble’s global brand portfolio. This onsite role in New York, NY will span motion design and animation, video editing and post-production oversight, and collaboration with creative teams and agency partners to keep motion consistent at scale.
Role overview
You will lead the execution of motion design and animation across a wide range of communications for Bumble’s diverse brands, from social and digital to global campaigns and marketing work. You will take ownership of complex briefs from concept through to delivery, ensuring the final output is high-quality, on-brand, and consistently excellent across markets.
What you’ll do
- Lead motion design and animation execution across social, digital, campaigns, and marketing communications for multiple Bumble brands.
- Own complex briefs end-to-end, translating concepts into polished motion work aligned with brief intent and brand objectives.
- Collaborate with designers, art directors, copywriters, and other creatives to create cohesive work across brands.
- Contribute to brainstorming and concepting sessions with a distinct motion perspective.
- Develop, own, and formalise motion guidelines to establish consistent motion language for global brand delivery.
- Partner with agency teams globally as the key creative point of contact for motion on campaigns and content, providing clear, constructive direction.
- Present motion work to key stakeholders and clearly articulate motion design decisions and rationale.
- Champion Bumble brand standards across markets and touchpoints to maintain consistency.
- Oversee freelancers and agency partners in video editing and post-production when needed, supporting efficient delivery workflows.
- Manage workload effectively and proactively flag resource or timeline considerations.
- Stay current with motion trends, emerging tools, and technology, bringing relevant references and fresh thinking to the team.
What you’ll bring
- Strong portfolio showing exceptional craft and versatile motion design thinking across multiple channels, including brand campaigns, social content, and digital.
- Track record of delivering high volumes of high-quality animation and motion work in a fast-paced environment, with the confidence to take full ownership from brief to final delivery.
- Self-starter mindset with energy and ideas, comfortable working without close supervision and thriving in a collaborative, geographically diverse team.
- Experience working with agency partners, including the ability to guide and steer creative output to a high standard.
- 7+ years of motion design experience (preferably in the tech sector) and a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Expert command of After Effects and Figma, with openness to exploring emerging tools such as Cavalry, Jitter, and AI-powered motion tools.
- Demonstrated experience developing or contributing to motion guidelines, with understanding of scalable motion systems for global brands.
- Positive, committed approach with a “can-do” attitude and a flexible method for solving complex problems with elegant motion solutions.
- Comfort delivering work autonomously and collaborating with others to discover solutions.
- Great communication skills and confidence presenting and explaining creative decisions to stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple briefs and tight deadlines without compromising quality, with strong time management and attention to detail.
- Solid video editing and post-production skills, including the ability to oversee delivery workflows when required.
- Audio editing and sound design understanding is a bonus; Cinema 4D experience is a bonus.

Compensation
$110,000 - $145,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, skill set, and other job-related considerations.
