Principal Product Designer - Payments

Design the future of how customers get paid with Intuit. In this on-site role in Mountain View, CA, you will define and execute design for high-priority Payments and Invoicing initiatives, partnering across product and design leaders to bring concepts to launch. You will also use AI to prototype and shape customer experiences, while mentoring designers and building alignment through clear storytelling and strong design craft.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the design vision for the highest-priority Payments and Invoicing initiatives
• Guide and influence strategic direction across partner teams, aligning with QuickBooks and Intuit strategy and business goals
• Raise the bar for design craft and product standards across Payments and Invoicing, promoting consistency and excellence
• Work with design and product leaders to shape how customers get paid across QuickBooks and Intuit’s broader ecosystem
• Lead complex, cross-functional design efforts from concept to launch
• Use AI tools to build evocative prototypes and establish or evolve design patterns and specifications based on solid design rationale
• Explore and implement innovative solutions using emerging native AI patterns and capabilities
• Present design concepts and rationale through compelling narratives
• Influence and inspire cross-functional teams and leadership through effective storytelling
• Facilitate design shares, workshops, and critiques to drive alignment across leadership, as well as design and product teams
• Mentor and guide Staff and Senior designers to support their professional growth
• Establish yourself as a thought leader within the design community, internally and externally
• Drive adoption of best practices and new design patterns

Requirements

• 15+ years of product design experience, preferably on large-scale products (Payments experience is a bonus)
• Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels
• Expertise in design systems, interaction design, and visual craft
• Proven track record leading and delivering impactful design solutions across large and complex products and platforms
• Ability to communicate holistic ideas through storyboarding, wireframing, and prototyping
• A portfolio demonstrating strong user-centered design principles and mastery of craft
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence product management, marketing, engineering, and other designers
• Exceptional ability to analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions, identify opportunities, and measure outcomes
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, including leading and inspiring teams across functions

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: USD 239,000 - 323,000 per year. Expected base pay range by location: Mountain View $239,000 - $323,000.
