Job Description
Youngstown State University invites applications for a part-time faculty position in the graphic design program within the Art department. The role focuses on delivering fully online, asynchronous graphic design courses and supporting student success through remote communication with students and university colleagues from Youngstown, Ohio. This position is part-time and centers on providing high-quality instruction in a flexible online setting, with opportunities to connect with students virtually as needed.
Responsibilities
- Deliver fully online, asynchronous graphic design courses.
- Provide instruction of high quality with a clear emphasis on fostering student achievement.
- Be available to meet with students virtually upon request.
- Carry out teaching assignments remotely.
- Teach and offer constructive feedback to guide student progress and success.
- Respond to student inquiries in a timely manner.
- Maintain communication with students, departments, and university staff using the institution's approved tools and resources.
Requirements
- Submit a brief letter of interest along with qualifications, a current curriculum vitae (CV), an unofficial transcript for the highest degree earned, and a list of references.
- A link to a professional portfolio and/or sample student work is optional.
- Official transcripts are required at the time of hire.
- Transcripts must arrive in an unopened, sealed envelope and bear the embossed or raised college seal, date, and Registrar’s signature.
