Job Description

Motion Designer at We Are Social in New York, onsite, responsible for translating strategy into high quality motion design and visual output for social campaigns, while staying ahead of trends and collaborating across teams.

Salary

USD 70,000 - 200,000 per year

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience in an agency, studio, or a comparable environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia, or a related discipline

Responsibilities

  • Spot emerging social trends and opportunities while preserving brand integrity
  • Turn complex, abstract ideas into concrete, visually compelling designs aligned with client objectives and resonant with diverse audiences
  • Conceptualize, produce, shoot, and edit effective stories tailored to each social platform
  • Articulate design choices and creative rationale to internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Address project challenges with adaptable, creative solutions that maintain aesthetic quality
  • Collaborate across departments to build relationships and ensure a cohesive final product
  • Manage multiple priorities with rapid turnarounds for real time moments and trending content, delivering high quality work on time
  • Create a wide range of content, including photography, videography, design, and platform-specific tools, matched to the client, moment, and idea
  • Switch between styles while exploring unique opportunities to make the work ownable and shareable
  • Design visually engaging presentations, produce mockups, and perform light retouching to help pitch ideas to top clients
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate the creative process, generating multiple design variations for a single concept

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in an agency, studio, or comparable environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia, or a related discipline
  • A strong portfolio showcasing an understanding of short-form content and platform best practices
  • Proficiency in design and editing software including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom, and InDesign
  • In-depth familiarity with Instagram and TikTok features, best practices, creator tools such as CapCut, and related culture
  • Clear perspective on entertaining audiences, driving views, and building a dedicated social following
  • Strong sense of color, layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and storytelling
  • Active awareness of current design and social trends with attention to upcoming technologies
