Job Description

The Graphic Design Fellowship supports the Arroyo Seco Saints by creating and maintaining design assets across print, digital, video, and social channels.

Responsibilities

  • Tell the Arroyo Seco Saints collegiate summer baseball story through assigned graphic design channels including print, digital, video, and other formats
  • Maintain brand integrity across all creative elements
  • Support creation and design of graphics, logos, banners, collateral, and other creative deliverables as assigned
  • Create graphics for in-game and program-wide marketing including Saints website and Saints social media platforms
  • Produce and update assets for the California Collegiate League (CCL) website and other related platforms
  • Edit, label, and upload graphics on a daily and game-by-game basis to the Saints website, internal management platform, and social media accounts
  • Collaborate with Saints staff and fellow interns to deliver in-game and marketing content
  • Coordinate with California Collegiate League designers and content managers to fulfill league graphic requirements, including support for events such as CCL All Star Game, CCL Playoffs, CCL Golf Tournament, and various fundraisers, plus website graphics support
  • Create content as directed for annual reports, strategic plans, and other requirements documentation
  • During the season of play (June to July), attend all home games (and road games as assigned) as part of the Creative Services Team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Ability to produce deliverables using Adobe Creative Suite, with proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • Online, reviewable portfolio of past work relevant to the role
  • Prior experience in sports-related graphic design
  • Ability to work in a team within a multimedia-driven creative environment
  • Knowledge of HTML and web design is preferred but not required
  • Highly creative, imaginative, and able to self-start
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Working knowledge of the college athletics sector; knowledge of baseball is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of current social media trends
  • Passion and proficiency for graphic design
  • Pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate degree in a related major
  • Exhibit professionalism when representing the Arroyo Seco Saints
  • Strong understanding of design, layout, and composition principles
  • Experience with Adobe apps such as Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, and Illustrator
  • Access to a computer for designing and editing
  • Experience or familiarity with After Effects is a plus
  • Upbeat and friendly attitude
  • Excellent organization; self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Team player with a deadline-driven, get-it-done work ethic
  • Ability to create and edit graphics for in-game use
  • Ability to interact with Saints front office members, coaches, players, staff, the California Collegiate League, and more

Tools & Technologies

  • Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
  • Lightroom Classic
  • After Effects (experience/familiarity is a plus)
  • HTML and web design (preferred)

Fellowship Structure & Time Commitments

  • 12-month fellowship divided into phases: remote prep period, hybrid season of play, then remote wrap-up
  • Hire date to May: fully remote, focused on tasks preparing for the upcoming season
  • June to early August: hybrid schedule with required on-site presence during the season of play as part of the Creative Services Team
  • After the season concludes: returns to remote through end of term for post-season wrap-up and preparation
  • College credit internship eligibility available; applicants not needing credit may still apply
  • All interns participate in an introductory meeting in late May (in-person or by conference call)
  • Hours vary; game days are typically 1:00-10:00 p.m., non-game days as needed
  • Some remote hours required to complete tasks within time frames
  • Commit for the duration of the season (exceptions for differing school start/stop dates reviewed individually)
  • Season term can include up to two (2) weeks before and two (2) weeks after the beginning and ending of the game schedule
  • Saints college summer season runs June to early August
  • Ability to begin remote work before the season begins is a plus

  • Arroyo Seco Saints is a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit bringing elite college players, coaches, and college students to the greater Los Angeles area for June and July
  • Member of the California Collegiate League, entering its 21st season
  • Goal: provide the finest collegiate summer baseball experience in the nation
