Assistant Professor - Graphic Design

Responsibilities

• Teach graphic design across undergraduate and graduate levels and participate in portfolio reviews, delivering rigorous instruction while supporting students in developing professional portfolios.
• Collaborate in the oversight and day-to-day operation of the graphic design program and its lab facilities, ensuring smooth operation and alignment with program goals.
• Coordinate and supervise internships, establishing strong industry connections and effective learning experiences for students.
• Provide mentoring and academic advising to both undergraduate and graduate students, guiding their academic and professional development.
• Develop new courses and update curricula to reflect evolving industry standards and scholarly inquiry within graphic design.
• Contribute to retention and recruitment efforts by engaging with prospective and current students and participating in program outreach.
• Foster a positive, collaborative departmental culture that supports student success and collegial staff collaboration.
• Demonstrate effectiveness in teaching, creative scholarship, and service commitments within the department and university context.

Requirements

• Master's degree in graphic design or related discipline, or a bachelor's degree with significant professional experience.
• Demonstrated record of professional practice and industry experience in graphic design.
