Art Director
Job Description
Photon invites a seasoned Art Director to lead a multidisciplinary creative team onsite in Kentucky. You will provide artistic direction to deliver high quality visual solutions, collaborating with clients and stakeholders to shape concepts and strategy while overseeing multiple design projects from concept through delivery.
Responsibilities
- Steer artistic direction and supervise a diverse creative team, including graphic designers, illustrators, photographers, and other professionals.
- Motivate and mentor team members to produce outstanding and innovative visuals.
- Collaborate with clients, creative teams, and stakeholders to shape concepts and refine ideas that align with project goals.
- Define and articulate the overall visual style, tone, and messaging for projects.
- Develop mood boards, storyboards, and presentations to communicate concepts to clients and teammates.
- Direct the creation of visual assets, ensuring alignment with design and branding guidelines while pushing creative boundaries.
- Work across print materials, digital designs, packaging, advertising campaigns, and other formats.
- Collaborate with copywriters, marketers, designers, and other team members to deliver cohesive campaigns.
- Oversee multiple projects from concept development to final delivery.
- Set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Present concepts to clients and address feedback while maintaining a professional and collaborative relationship.
- Translate client feedback into actionable creative solutions.
- Stay current with design, art, and industry trends to bring fresh ideas to the creative process.
- Maintain strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and provide guidance on best practices for design software usage.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Art, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (X+ years) in art direction, creative direction, or a related role within the creative industry.
- Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Strong conceptual thinking and a keen eye for design aesthetics and details.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of creative projects and a track record of successful campaigns.
