As a Senior Product Designer, you will help shape intuitive UI/UX and intelligent tools that support product development, manufacturing, and environmental stewardship. The role focuses on translating complex operational data into clear interfaces and building human-centered AI experiences.
Role Focus
You will define mental models and workflows that make large, complex operational datasets understandable and actionable. You will also design AI-driven product experiences that address nondeterminism, trust, agentic workflows, and explainability, ensuring users can interact with intelligent systems in a grounded way.
Responsibilities
- Define mental models and workflows that turn massive, complex operational datasets into clear, actionable interfaces.
- Conduct investigative user research to uncover latent user problems beyond initial feature requests.
- Design human-centered AI product experiences, including nondeterminism, trust, agentic workflows, and explainability.
- Design with AI to accelerate prototyping, test concepts, and move from discovery to shipped software with velocity.
- Partner closely with engineering, including whiteboarding interaction logic, reviewing front-end components, or opening a pull request (PR) yourself.
Requirements
- 8–10+ years of product design (UI/UX) experience shipping complex, data-dense software tools, web platforms, and operational systems.
- Proven track record designing data-intensive workflows (examples include analytics platforms, scientific or modeling tools, enterprise workflow engines, or developer platforms) with demonstrated user and business impact.
- Demonstrated experience designing for AI/ML-driven features and systems, including work across probability, confidence scores, recommendations, and conversational or agentic interfaces.
- Hands-on experience integrating AI into your design workflow to accelerate user research synthesis, rapid prototyping, and production-ready handoffs.
- Fluency with front-end architectures and component libraries, plus deep collaboration with engineering teams, including familiarity with Git workflows and opening or reviewing pull requests.
- Mastery of modern design and prototyping tools, including the ability to rapidly test ideas using AI-assisted tooling.
Technologies
- Git
- Git workflows
- Pull requests (PR)
Preferred Qualifications
- Transformational design experience leading migration or modernization of legacy, pre-AI software suites into next-generation intelligent platforms.
- System-level thinking experience building, scaling, and documenting design systems used across multi-team or external vendor ecosystems.
- Scientific or operational domain curiosity, including exposure to supply chain, manufacturing, or environmental or sustainability modeling (examples include carbon accounting, LCA, or materials science), with strong willingness to dive deep into technical domains.
- Creative and analytical versatility, including the ability to explore raw datasets and validate user pain points directly and/or world-class brand and visual craft capable of designing a sharp, memorable tool icon or team identity mark.
