Full time Marketing Consumer Product Design Conversion Rate Optimization

Shape how people discover, understand, and get started with Base, and build a cohesive customer experience across web, enrollment, and mobile.

Evolve the top-of-funnel experience: identify opportunities to improve discovery, understanding, and enrollment with Base
Benchmark strong onboarding and conversion patterns and run experiments ranging from copy and design tweaks to entirely new flows
Use conversion data to measure what works and continuously raise the quality of the experience
Shape what’s next by identifying opportunities, exploring new ideas, and owning new features from concept through launch across the website and mobile app
Make data-driven design decisions by analyzing product metrics, enrollment funnels, and member behavior to find friction and challenge assumptions
Own outcomes after launch by monitoring performance against goals and applying insights to future improvements
Build alongside design by using AI, code, and emerging tools to prototype and turn concepts into working experiences
Simplify complex ideas so energy and the grid feel approachable and easy to understand
Collaborate with the product design team to evolve and build design systems
Manage multiple projects by deciding when to move quickly, when to go deeper, and how to prioritize the work that matters most

2 to 4 years of product design experience, ideally focused on consumer products
A portfolio showing strong visual craft, thoughtful interaction design, and clear problem solving
Comfort using product metrics and analytics to understand behavior, identify friction, and make informed design decisions
Ability to take a defined problem, explore multiple approaches, and drive a solution through launch independently
Experience applying product data, customer insights, and experimentation to improve existing experiences and measure impact
Comfort going beyond traditional workflows using AI and new tools, with an emphasis on what you’ve built (not only what you designed)
Strong Figma skills, including working within and contributing to a design system
Strong design judgment and ability to deliver exceptional work within real-world constraints
Resourceful, curious mindset with willingness to learn new skills and find better ways of working
Ability to share a point of view while staying open to feedback and collaboration
Curiosity about energy, climate, or products that combine hardware and software

Work across the website, enrollment experience, and mobile app to improve existing experiences and build new features
Use customer insights and product metrics to find where people get stuck and design solutions that improve usability, engagement, and conversion
Independently explore ideas, take ownership of problems, and bring solutions to life
Partner with engineering, growth, operations, and design to ship experiences and keep improving after launch

Turn complex products and technology into something simple, approachable, and trustworthy
Support a wide range of business needs across digital experiences, physical products, campaigns, sales, events, and more
Work across mediums to help define what Base becomes as it grows

First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.
Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, learn by doing
Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, maintain a growth mindset
Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results
Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information
Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge; work is in-person and not a 9-to-5
Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration with the intensity of building real things

Note: Base is a startup, so priorities may shift quickly. The listed responsibilities may not be exhaustive.
