Lead UI & UX Designer and Conversation Designer on UKG's Bryte AI Design Systems team, translating AI product vision into behavioral systems within high-stakes HCM environments.
Location: Seattle, WA (hybrid) • Salary: USD 129,500 - 186,100 per year • Minimum experience: 7+ years
Responsibilities
- Develop and fine-tune conversation response patterns guiding how AI agents interpret, respond, and act.
- Create and extend ontologies and structured content models to enable scalable, consistent AI behavior.
- Convert brand voice, policy, and UX principles into machine interpretable structures.
- Define agent autonomy across a spectrum from suggestions to confirmations to acting on behalf of users.
- Design for complex scenarios involving trust, compliance, and human in the loop decision making.
- Iteratively test and refine patterns using real user interactions and feedback loops.
- Collaborate with design and product to run experiments on interaction strategies, autonomy levels, and system behaviors.
- Continuously improve systems based on task success, user trust, and escalation patterns.
- Build patterns that make AI behavior explainable, predictable, and controllable.
- Define when AI should ask, confirm, defer, or act in interactions.
- Address bias, privacy, and compliance constraints within HR technology contexts.
Requirements
- 7+ years designing conversational or AI driven systems, with strength in structured content or interaction models.
- Proven ability to translate ambiguous problems into scalable systems or frameworks.
- Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end work, including systems thinking and shipped outcomes.
- Comfort working with structured data, schemas, or content models.
