Motion Designer
Job Description
Cella seeks a Motion Designer for its in-house studio to lead motion‑driven storytelling and elevate brand and product experiences through animation. This motion‑first role blends concept development with hands‑on production to shape engaging visual narratives across digital touchpoints.
Responsibilities
- Define how motion enhances clarity, usability, and storytelling across Cella's digital experiences, delivering thoughtful, scalable animation for product and brand.
- Design and deliver motion across digital experiences, including product animations, video content, data visualizations, UI transitions, and interaction states.
- Translate complex ideas into clear, compelling visual narratives.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, creatives, and developers to integrate motion into product and marketing experiences.
- Maintain a consistent, scalable motion language that balances brand expression with usability and performance.
- Create and refine supporting static assets such as illustrations, compositing, and light design work as needed.
- Uphold and evolve brand standards across digital touchpoints.
- Present work, incorporate feedback, and contribute to a collaborative creative culture.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience specializing in motion design, animation, and concept‑driven storytelling.
- A portfolio demonstrating motion work across digital products, brand, and/or interactive experiences.
- Expert‑level proficiency in After Effects; strong working knowledge of Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Experience with Figma and Lottie (or similar) for product integration and developer handoff.
- Strong understanding of motion principles for UX, including transitions, hierarchy, and feedback.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (eg, reduced motion) and performance optimization.
- Experience working closely with product teams and engineering.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
- Clear communication skills and confidence presenting to cross‑functional partners.

Location
Austin, TX, onsite four days per week.
Contract Type
12 month contract with potential for extension.
Compensation Range
Hourly rate: USD 40 - 45 per hour.
