Job Description

Location: New York, NY (hybrid) with in-office presence at 150 E 42nd Street. Type: Full-time, Permanent. Compensation: USD 71,875 - 100,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead motion projects from concept and pitch through design, animation, and final delivery
  • Collaborate with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Producers, and Project Managers to ensure on-brand, on-time outcomes
  • Develop and maintain reusable templates, motion systems, and toolkits to boost speed and consistency
  • Design with platform specifics in mind, delivering content optimized for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, paid social, and other channels
  • Juggle multiple projects with shifting deadlines while preserving quality
  • Source and mix music and sound for motion deliverables
  • Maintain brand consistency across all work in line with client guidelines
  • Contribute to the team's creative culture by sharing ideas, giving feedback, and helping improve workflows

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional motion design experience, ideally in an agency, studio, or in-house creative team
  • Strong portfolio or reel showing range across social, campaign, and brand work with evident design thinking
  • Expert-level After Effects, including expressions and shape layer animation; familiarity with plugins
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro
  • Solid graphic design and typography skills; able to craft a compelling frame before animation
  • Experience blending live-action footage with motion design
  • Working knowledge of Cinema 4D or Blender to integrate 3D elements into motion work
  • Understanding of social platforms, trends, specs, and what makes content perform
  • Basic audio editing, including syncing sound to motion and music selection
  • Disciplined file organization with clean project files and clear handoff-ready assets
  • Clear communicator who presents work well, accepts feedback constructively, and explains design decisions
