Fanatics Collectibles is building collector-facing experiences through its Collector Engagement team, bringing together digital product design and real-world moments. This role focuses on end-to-end design for program discovery and progression, reward redemption, leaderboards, and retail or live check-in touchpoints that work reliably in busy environments.
As Product Designer III, you will translate complex program rules into clear, usable interfaces, while collaborating closely with Product and frontend engineering to ensure designs are feasible, consistent, and ready for implementation.
Role focus
- Design collector experiences spanning program discovery, progression, redemption and rewards, leaderboards, and retail/live check-in moments
- Create end-to-end flows that move from flows and wireframes through production-ready UI
- Shape collector-facing surfaces that can support progress across multiple concurrent programs without creating confusion
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and deliver end-to-end experiences for assigned collector programs, including production-ready user interfaces
- Make rules-based mechanics understandable, including eligibility, progress state, reward tiers, expiry, and the paths where a collector does not qualify
- Design physical-to-digital handoff experiences, including card scanning and check-in moments that work in poor lighting, on constrained connections, and in crowded environments
- Build and extend reusable components and patterns for program surfaces so new programs can be assembled from existing building blocks
- Collaborate daily with frontend engineers on feasibility, interaction states, motion, and handoff, and stay involved through implementation review
- Partner with Product on program mechanics, contributing to what a program includes beyond presentation
- Contribute to accessibility, localization readiness, and consistency across collector-facing surfaces
- Validate designs with collectors and through program telemetry, then iterate based on findings
- Contribute to design critique and support quality across the broader design team
- Stay current with consumer mobile design patterns and apply relevant improvements to collector experiences
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional product design experience
- Portfolio showing shipped consumer mobile work with clear ownership of end-to-end flows
- Strong ability to go from ambiguous problem definition to flows, interaction detail, and engineering-ready UI
- Experience designing rules-based or state-heavy systems such as progression, loyalty, wallets, or marketplaces
- Strong proficiency in Figma, including building and maintaining components and variables
- Experience working within and contributing to an established design system
- Understanding of mobile interaction patterns, accessibility fundamentals, and platform conventions
- Ability to present and defend design decisions with Product and Engineering partners, including revising based on new information
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional environments
- Professional working proficiency in English, with daily collaboration across US-based stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred qualifications
- Experience designing gamified systems such as quests, achievements, or progression mechanics
- Experience with physical-to-digital interactions including scanning, QR, or NFC
- Motion and prototyping skills for communicating reward, unlock, and reveal moments
- Experience designing for live events, venues, or retail environments
- Familiarity with design tokens and multi-surface component libraries
- Passion for sports, collectibles, creators, or digital communities
