Job Description

This Senior Motion Designer role sits within Anysphere’s SpaceXSI Brand Studio, where you will define and deliver the brand’s motion language and apply it across campaigns and product surfaces. The position is hands-on, ownership-heavy, and designed for an AI-first approach that turns motion practice into repeatable workflows.

Responsibilities

Define and extend the brand’s motion language, covering timing, easing, transitions, logo animation, typography in motion, and graphic behaviors, and document it so other teams can apply it consistently.
Convert recurring motion deliverables into repeatable, AI-assisted workflows by building templates, tools, and generators that enable marketing, product, and other teams to produce on-brand motion without direct involvement.
Concept and produce motion end to end, from storyboards through final delivery, across launch films, product videos, social, paid, web, and out-of-home.
Collaborate with product designers and engineers to bring brand motion into product surfaces, including interactions, transitions, onboarding, and launch moments.
Direct agencies, animators, and freelancers using clear briefs and candid feedback to ensure output meets the quality bar expected for the role.
Partner across marketing, product, engineering, and leadership to bring a motion point of view to new surfaces as they emerge, presenting thinking clearly to senior stakeholders.
Move quickly between projects while maintaining a high standard, and continuously improve the process, not only the finished work.

Requirements

6+ years of motion design experience, in-house, or at an agency or studio.
Working fluency in After Effects, Cinema 4D or Blender, Figma, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Experience using AI coding tools, especially Cursor, with the ability to build tools, scripts, prototypes, and simple web pages rather than waiting on engineering.
Hands-on experience using AI video and image generation tools as part of a real production workflow.
A reel and portfolio demonstrating both motion system work and shipped campaigns, with bonus consideration for tools or workflows you built.
Strong instincts for timing, rhythm, typography in motion, and storytelling.
Experience working through animation workflows from conceptualization and storyboard design to execution.
A systems mindset that turns one-off tasks into reusable processes and considers how creative work scales.
Conviction in design decisions, with the ability to explain impact to designers, marketers, and leadership.
Self-directed, fast-paced, and energized by variety and ambiguity.
