Shape the Kiro Web experience and help define how developers use agentic AI across the IDE, CLI, Web, Mobile, and Kiro Crew. As a Senior Product Designer on the Kiro team at AWS, you’ll drive end-to-end design for major features, build trust in AI that writes and validates code, and partner closely with product and engineering to turn customer insight into clear direction.
Kiro is an agentic AI from AWS that converts prompts into structured requirements, designs, and sequenced tasks, then implements them with parallel agents that verify correctness. It’s available as a desktop IDE, a CLI, a web app, a mobile app, and Kiro Crew, an open-source persistent development workspace, all powered by a unified agent harness. The initial focus is Kiro Web.
Responsibilities
- Deepen understanding of developers by conducting and synthesizing research to build rich mental models of how people think, work, and adopt agentic tools
- Lead concept design and early-stage framing through ecosystem maps, concept models, user stories, journey frameworks, and experience principles
- Own the end-to-end design process for major features across the Kiro platform including IDE, CLI, Web, Mobile, and Kiro Crew
- Design agentic workflows that include spec-driven development, autonomous mode, parallel agents, hooks, and correctness verification
- Iterate quickly and prototype at the right fidelity, from paper sketches and concept storyboards to high-fidelity interactive prototypes, selecting appropriate tools and methods
- Create cohesive experiences across desktop, terminal, browser, mobile, and open-source surfaces while respecting each platform’s interaction paradigms
- Partner with product management and engineering to influence strategy with strong design rationale and customer advocacy
- Mentor junior designers and define scalable design patterns that raise the bar across the team
Requirements
- 7+ years of design experience
- 2+ years of experience working with or evaluating AI systems
- Experience using a variety of design, wire-framing, and prototyping tools
- A portfolio demonstrating deep audience understanding and early-stage design thinking, including concept models, ecosystem maps, user stories, and experience frameworks, plus how research translates into design strategy
- Experience designing complex, multi-step workflows across multiple platforms or surfaces, with strong information architecture and interaction design skills
Team and culture
You’ll join a team of designers and researchers embedded within the Kiro product organization. Design has a seat at the table from strategy through shipping, with dedicated UX research support and close collaboration with researchers so decisions are rooted in customer insight. The team covers the full Kiro suite including the IDE, CLI, Web, Mobile, Kiro Crew, the Kiro agent, and platform capabilities, and works alongside product and engineering as one team. You’ll also collaborate openly, support each other’s growth, and bring diverse perspectives to how the product is built.
