Job Description

The Manager, Graphic Design (Apparel & Embroidery) will lead brand-driven design and development for embroidery, customization, localization, and personalization across the FIGS ecosystem. This role is focused on creating premium, scalable customer experiences through strong visual systems and original artwork.

Responsibilities

  • Design embroidery, customization, and personalization concepts aligned with the FIGS brand.
  • Create elevated visual solutions for customer-facing personalization across products, retail, digital, and experiential activations.
  • Develop scalable graphic systems that maintain consistency across multiple customer touchpoints.
  • Apply localization principles to adapt designs for different languages, cultures, and regions while maintaining a cohesive brand experience.
  • Contribute creative ideas that continue to evolve and elevate the FIGS personalization offering.
  • Design original embroidery artwork, iconography, monograms, patches, stickers, and branded graphics.
  • Develop creative for monograms and personalization.
  • Develop creative for medical specialty graphics.
  • Develop creative for TEAMS customization.
  • Develop creative for regional and localized creative.
  • Develop creative for seasonal and culturally relevant launches.
  • Develop creative for new personalization formats and techniques.
  • Design thoughtful embroidery placements across apparel and accessories.
  • Develop color palettes, typography, graphic systems, and embroidery applications that align with the FIGS brand.
  • Lead embroidery and personalization design across: scrubs, jackets, hats, beanies, scrub caps, bags, totes, pouches, and accessories, plus partnership and limited-edition products.
  • Partner with Product Design to explore embroidery applications on new fabrics, silhouettes, and product categories.
  • Ensure embroidery designs balance creativity with functionality, scalability, and production requirements.
  • Partner closely with Creative, Product Design, Experiential Marketing, Merchandising, Production, and E-commerce teams.
  • Collaborate with production partners to ensure creative intent is maintained throughout execution.
  • Support time-sensitive launches and business initiatives with thoughtful, high-quality design solutions.
  • Stay current on trends in embroidery, personalization, graphic design, fashion, and culture to inspire new ideas.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of experience in graphic design, embroidery design, apparel graphics, product design, or customization.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional typography, composition, illustration, color, and graphic design.
  • Experience designing graphics for apparel, accessories, or branded products.
  • Understanding of embroidery applications, stitch limitations, placements, and production considerations.
  • Ability to translate brand strategy into elevated customer-facing creative.
  • Experience creating scalable design systems across multiple product categories.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience with personalization, branded merchandise, apparel graphics, or customization is highly preferred.
  • Passion for product design, storytelling, and creating meaningful experiences for healthcare professionals.

Compensation

  • Base salary range: USD 115,000 - 125,000 per year.
