Graphic Design / Sign Production Specialist
Job Description
Michael’s Signs Inc. is hiring a Graphic Design / Sign Production Specialist in Racine, WI (onsite) with competitive pay of USD 18 to 25 per hour. This full-time role blends design and real production work, giving you the chance to create production-ready artwork for custom signs and support projects through fabrication, finishing, and inspection for delivery and installation.
What you’ll do
- Create, modify, and prepare production-ready artwork and layouts for custom signs, graphics, and displays.
- Develop signage concepts using customer specifications, measurements, and project requirements.
- Prepare customer proofs, handle revisions, and ensure final artwork is approved and ready to produce.
- Maintain brand consistency while ensuring accurate sizing, proportions, colors, fonts, and layouts.
- Prepare files for digital printing, vinyl cutting, routing, and other sign-production processes.
- Keep customer artwork and production files organized for easy retrieval and smooth handoffs.
- Operate sign-production equipment including digital printers, vinyl cutters, laminators, and other related tools.
- Prepare completed signs for delivery and installation.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and workmanship.
- Collaborate with sales, estimating, production, and installation teams and review specifications and measurements before production begins.
- Support production schedules and project deadlines while maintaining cleanliness and safety.
- Follow established safety and quality-control procedures.
What you bring
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop (preferred).
- Strong foundation in typography, layout, color, and graphic-design principles.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing final files.
- Ability to read measurements and dimensions.
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
- Dependability, punctuality, and willingness to learn.
- Comfort using computers, tools, materials, and production equipment.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move sign materials when required.
- Previous experience in signs, printing, graphics, fabrication, or production is a plus, but not required for the right candidate.
